This book is a somewhat new way to do a Bible study. Sheri Caruso opens each week of the 8-week study with an insightful look at one of the churches of Revelation. This is followed by 7 days of verses to contemplate and pray. The unexpected format was a gift because I decided that I would totally immerse myself in the process. I'm so glad I did. I chose the book because of its title and expected a great story of someone who had greatly sinned and through a season of repentance and prayer (Sackcloth and Ashes...) was totally forgiven. By the end of the book, I discovered that person was me. I just ordered the paperback for my library, but have already read the Kindle version of this book and base my review on that: Written to the backdrop of Christ’s Seven Letters To The Churches in Revelation, the author challenges us to lay our hearts bare before Jesus Christ. To honestly compare our thoughts, attitudes, and daily living to the Bible, our standard for faith and practice. It doesn’t take long in this process for each of us to realize that we are guilty of many of the same sins that Christ accused the seven churches of. The reader is then led through the process of recognizing and facing our sin, and the true repentance necessary to overcome our failures. The journey won’t be easy or painless and will require spiritual warfare breakthroughs. But for the true disciple of Jesus Christ who desires to walk in His love, victory, and power, the journey will be worth it.
Lots of Scriptural references, practical application concentration on repentance and prayer.

Great study for self or a group. Though I recommend a group study and discussion, makes it more meaningful and insightful to hear thoughts and experiences of people with this helping to guide the discussion.
